What is CrossFit Teens?

CrossFit Teens is a strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for teenagers and helps them develop a lifelong love of fitness.  In a group setting, children and teens participate in fun and engaging workouts.  CrossFit Kids is being implemented in preschools, physical education curriculums, high schools, and before-and-after school programs.

CrossFit Kids workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive and general and scaleable for any participant at any level.

No two workouts are the same.  

Teens never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them excited about participating. All movements involve exercises that are fundamental to kids when they play – pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump.  All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of our Trainers.

With workouts that are scaleable, CrossFit Teens can equally benefit a person who is less active or an accomplished athlete by tailoring workouts so that each participant is challenged just enough to deliver results and personal athletic progress.

Both my son and daughter attend the Crossfit Teens program at CrossFit Plainfield. Our experience with the program has been fantastic. I have watched both my son and daughter grow in so many ways attending the classes. Not only are they developing a love for fitness and nutrition for the future. They have made many friends in class that they now do things outside of class. Not only have they gained strength and endurance, but this program has also led to an increase in confidence in all aspects of what the do in everyday life. CrossFit is known for community and this exists in the teen’s program as well at CrossFit Plainfield. I highly recommend the teens program at CrossFit Plainfield for not only increasing their performance in other sports but building self-confidence

The staff and community at CFP have helped my son mature, develop confidence, and find something he’s proud of. CrossFit for Teens is more than just physical fitness. Here, he’s part of a community and has a sense of belonging. Everyone in the gym is looking out for each other, whether you’re the owner, a coach, a middle-aged member, or a kid. He gets expert coaching in functional movement, coaching which has improved his performance in track and field, basketball, and swimming. While his anxiety once froze him, my son now has a “can do” problem-solving mentality, one which grew from confronting challenges at CrossFit with the support of coaches and the community. All in all, his physical and social-emotional development has been accelerated because of his involvement with CrossFit kids. Most importantly, he’s happy in his own skin, healthier, and proud to be part of something where he not only gets better every day, but contributes to other people’s improvement. CFP has become a crucial part of my son’s well-being.
